Peacock welcomes three new board members

Peacock Productions, Inc. is proud to announce the addition of three ambitious young people to its Board of Directors.  Peacock President and Co-Founder Maria Peters Lake said "I'm so excited to welcome these three passionate and exciting young people to our Board.  Their energy and enthusiasm are contagious!" 

Co-Founder Kimberlee Van Patten said "Matt, Cassie and Brian will bring new perspective, talent and skills to the dynamic Peacock board.  We are thrilled to have them." 

Please help us welcome our new board members:

Member at Large Matt GetzMatt Getz - An engaging entertainer, Matt became involvement with all things Peacock when he took to the stage during the last year of Peacock in the Park.  Now, his drive and passion for Peacock Productions and the AME Fund can be seen every year at Peacock After Dark, setting the stage, lights, and generally running around like a crazy person to get everything done! He hopes to bring fresh ideas and new perspectives to the Board of Directors and spread the word about the wonderful work that Peacock Productions does. To support his many philanthropic endeavors, Matt works for one of the largest hospital systems in the Northwest and is studying to earn his degree in Alternative and Complementary medicine.

 

Matthew Akerson a.k.a.Member at Large Cassie NovaCassie Nova has been an active member of the Imperial Sovereign Rose Court, since 2007. In 2008 she was crowned Debutante XXVII.  The following year, she was elected Miss Gay Portland XXXVIII and in 2011 she was crowned Imperial Princess XLI. During her reigns she has travelled all over the NW raising money for various communities, charities and scholarships. 

 

Member at Large Brian EverestMr. Gay Vancouver 2010-2011 Brian Everest has focused on reaching out to support youth organizations.  Specifically, Brian connected with Triple Point, a Vancouver youth organization supporting LGBTQ events and he helped to raise funds for Martha’s Pantry and the Audria M. Edwards Scholarship Fund.   In 2011 he was bestowed the title of Grand Duke to reign XXXVII,  served as a member of the board of directors of the ISCRE, and was awarded “Court Member of the Year”.   Recently he was elected Vice President of the interim board of the Queer Youth Resource Center, which is a newly formed organization designed to establish a LGBTQ youth community space in Vancouver, Washington.
