All-Ages Show Success!
Jun 10, 2009
Sunday, June 7, 2009 Peacock Productions, Inc., in cooperation with the Imperial Sovereign Rose Court, The Gay Portland title-holders; Glitter John and Felicity Carmichaels held the 14th Annual All-Ages Show at the Darcelle XV Showplace. Children ages 6 months to 78 years old filled the cabaret club to capacity for this special engagement.
Each year the Oregon Liquor License Commission allows Darcelle to relax her liquor license to allow children of all ages into the club for one night. All the alcohol is covered up and 7-Up, Coke and smoothies are the drink of choice. The All-Ages Show makes it possible for members of the GLBT community to give their children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren a glimpse of what we do and how we raise money for charity and acts as a showcase for upcoming talent.
Our own Rose Empress XXXVI Maria and Rose Empress XLIV Poison Waters acted as mistresses of ceremonies while Glitter John and Felicity Carmichaels acted as host and hostess greeting the audience members as they entered the cabaret with their kids. Darcelle XV & Company opened the evening with one of their dazzling production numbers before Darcelle weaved her way through a G-Rated monologue.
Adrienne Alexander, Jinx Monsoon, Cassie Nova, Kitty DeValmont, Summer Seasons, Celestial Storms, Iva Fetish & the Fetish Dancers, Athens Scities and the reigning Lace Joey, Rosebud Chiffon Valentine and Thorn Austin Scities Lindsey were just some of the entertainers who took the stage for the 90 minute show.
All the entertainers donated their tips and a total of $832.00 was raised for the Audria M. Edwards Scholarship Fund. Following the show, Darcelle, Maria and Poison Waters posed for photos with the delighted audience members.
As a special bonus this year, Patchwork Pictures was in the house to video tape the show for possible inclusion in their upcoming film documentary focusing on the history and contributions of the Imperial Court System in North America.
