Soul Food & Gospel Show raises $1,422.00 for A.M.E. Fund

Entertainers from as far away as Everett and Seattle, Washington filled the Darcelle XV Showplace with spirit on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the 2nd Annual Soul Food and Gospel Show!  Board members and local celebrities Rose Empress XXXVI Maria and LaFemme Magnifique Monica Boulevard were the MC's for this inspirational evening.

Several volunteers from the Imperial Sovereign Court of the Raintree Empire, the Sweetheart's of Portland and the Imperial Sovereign Rose Court joined Peacock Productions, Inc. board members in the kitchen to cook and serve a full fried chicken dinner complete with Trevor's mouthwatering mac & cheese, Sheri's soul-stirring potato salad, Jane's savory green beans and Kimberlee's corn bread muffins.  For dessert, Maria's homemade sweet potato pie and peach cobbler had folks singing the Hallelujah Chorus!! 

Rose Empress 50 Krystal Lynn, Prince XXXIV Chad Hammer, Alicia Day, Ryan Hart, Dixie Darlington, Cassie Nova, Alexis Campbell Starr, Clifford, Beyonce Black, Sir Awesome, Lady Redd, Diva Deveroux, Tiara Desmond, and Darcelle XV all entertained with gospel selections that had the capacity crowd clapping, praising and stomping their feet.   

By the end of the evening, a net profit of $1,422.00 was raised for the Audria M. Edwards Scholarship Fund.  Can I hear an AMEN?
